Low Energy Process Plants to Africa

Appropriate Process Technologies ( APT) are well renowned for simple, effective plug ‘n play alluvial scrubbing plants and have now installed these throughout Africa and abroad.

July 2010

APT have been exceptionally busy of late. Over the past month (JULY) some significant movement and developments have come to pass.

Low Energy Processing

Alluvial/Elluvial DIAMOND & GOLD Recovery made easy and efficient.

APT Appropriate Process Technologies now offer a complete RG Scrubber answer to Diamond & Gold recovery.

HIM Crushing & Milling in one stage

Our PS range of HIM’s (Horizontal Impact Mills) are a secondary & tertiary reduction machine “all in one”. They are capable of doing all the work done previously done by two conventional crushing systems (jaw & cone) AS WELL AS further reduction to fines. We offer a range starting at 3t/hr through to + 100t/hr

Let the Ore dictate the terms

Of late the buzz word, or should we say sentence in Africa has been, “I’m into mining”. During a visit to most hotels in Africa, from Cape to Cairo you will invariably notice clumps of people huddled in close and concentrated meetings, all very deeply intent and focused. These are the mining fraternity (geologists, process engineers, exploration experts, metallurgists and mining engineers to name a few). The continent has attracted extreme interest from all corners of the earth and within, all concerning the huge, and in many cases, dormant surface and underlying resources within. Africa is endowed with a huge array of minerals and to enter into that realm would take up a huge hunk of time. Suffice to say, the interest is there and many projects are being planned, implemented and commissioned right now.

January 2010 Instalation

October 2009

October has been a busy month indeed. The design team are slumped in their chairs, but happy. The objective was a complete review of the RG200 scrubber ahead of next expected orders. We have listened to you all, and taken note of every lesson the field has taught us. We have started at the front end and worked bumper to bumper, keeping what was good, discarding what could be improved upon, and adding a few good features besides. The result is a brand new unit that can wear its label with pride the RG200 Mark 3.

RG150 Chromite Fines/Spiral Plant

This particular RG150 Plant was supplied into Zimbabwe on the Great Dyke to cater for rich elluvial chromite fines found below the Great Dyke ridge in hotspot areas. It was initially supplied with a conveyor feed system and later up-graded to a water cannon sluice feed system. The plant handles 15 to 20 tonnes an hour of feed material. The mine owners spared no expense on bunkers and pad for the plant whereas some costs could have been saved by minimising this.

RG Scrubbing plants to the field

APT have recently sold RG60 and RG150 Scrubbing plants to gold mining firms in Africa. Running at feed rates of 4 to 20T/Hr they will surely be a great boost to gold production. RG60 plants have gone into the field coupled with Gemeni Tables and Knelson MD12 Concentrators which will then assist exploration efforts by enabling RealTime (visual) assessment of gold production from various target areas (at the same time these plants will be producing to pay their way). The RG150 plants are also in the field with Knelson MD20 Concentrators to compliment them. On the drawing board is the RG500 (50 to 80T/Hr)..RG Scrubbers can also be used with the recently developed GoldKacha Concentrator/s.

Goldkatcha Petrol

The new Petrol Goldkatcha. Running on 1 litre of petrol for 2,5 hours of operation, the new petrol Goldkatcha is an interesting development. Robust and economical, it will prove useful in remote areas without access to electricity and will be a valuable asset in prospecting.
