HIM Crushing & Milling in one stage

THE HORIZONTAL IMPACT MILL

A Mobile PS3040 unit with Diesel drive 3 - 4t/hr

INTRODUCTION

Our PS  range of HIM’s (Horizontal Impact Mills) are a secondary & tertiary reduction machine “all in one”. They are capable of doing all the work done previously done by two conventional crushing systems (jaw & cone) AS WELL AS further reduction to fines. We offer a range starting at 3t/hr through to + 100t/hr

 PRINCIPLE

The material fed to the HIM is subject to continuous impact forces resulting in breakage along the materials natural cleavage plains. First the HIM feed strikes the impact bars revolving at high speed. Due to the kinetic energy the broken material is thrown against the impact faces above the rotor where it is further reduced in size. The fragments are reflected back into the crushing/milling zone where they are struck by the blow-bars. The colliding fragments also produce a continuous crushing effect. This process is repeated constantly until the particles have reached the required size to leave the HIM through the gap between the blow-bar and impact face.

Our range of HIM’s have been designed to handle a multitude of different materials ranging from medium hard to very hard and abrasive.

SERVICE

At APT quality and service is our priority consideration. Our HIM’s are subject to quality control checks from the drawing board through to commissioning

All of this is backed up fully by APT appointed staff and agents  whose competence, experience, reliability and skill in keeping pace with modern developments ensures that each unit sent into the field meets the designed criteria.

REDUCTION

The HIMS’s achieve crushing/milling ratios of up to 20: 1 The utilization of the high kinetic energy in the HIM’s results in an optimum reduction.

HOUSING

The HIM casing is fabricated from steel plate. Its internal is lined with replaceable abrasion resistant wear plate.

ROTOR

The rotor, the heart of every impact crusher, is the result of many years of experience in the design and manufacture of impact mills

Rotors are subject to most stringent quality control checks during both design and production.
They are dynamically balanced ensuring optimum service life of the rotor and its bearings.
Depending on the diameter, the rotors in the PS HIM’s have 2, 4 or 6 rows of impact bars.
Each type of rotor has been specially designed and equipped to cope with the feed size as well as the hardness and abrasiveness of the material to be crushed.

IMPACT APRON

All standard HIM’s are designed with two impact faces.

In the PS and PK series both impact faces are of welded structure with bolt on impact plates.

They are both freely suspended above the rotors and are held on spindles adjustable from the outside. Because of their free hanging position they can swing aside when being hit by large rocks or foreign bodies. Thereafter they return to their initial position due to gravity.

OPERATION

Part of the PS housings can be hydraulically opened (on the large tonnage machines) and are provided with inspection covers. Therefore easy maintenance is ensured.

The gap between the tip circle and the bottom edge of the impact faces is adjustable.

The impact bars of the closed rotor are “S” shaped. On the multi-section rotors the impact bars are held by self locking wedges. An optional servicing device can be provided to assist the service personnel when exchanging and turning the impact bars.
